In April 2024, Russian steel enterprises produced 6,1 million tonnes of steel. This represents a decrease of 7,5% compared to April of the previous year. In the first four months of this year, the production volume decreased by 3,2% to 24,4 million tonnes.

In April, finished steel production fell by 5,3% year-on-year to 5,4 million tonnes. In the January-April period, production volume decreased by 2,4% to 21,3 million tonnes. Russian steelmakers also increased steel pipe production to 1,1 million tonnes (+5%) in April, but output in
the first four months of the year fell to 4.085 million tonnes (-3.2%).
