Equipped with a 1.5km-by-600-metre carbon and steel plant, an iron ore mine, and a ferrochrome plant, the project will have the capacity of 1.2 million tonnes a year.

Acting Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere said the upgrading of number 1 and rebuilding of the number 2 furnaces at Zimasco High Carbon Ferrochrome Smelter in Kwekwe in the Midlands Province has reached 80 percent and 20 percent of completion, respectively, while the number 7 and 8 furnaces have reached 50 percent.
