PrintInternational Ferro Metals (IFM) produced 39,700 mt of ferrochrome in July and August. The Sky Chrome mine achieved a 73,000 mtpm run-of-mine rate in August. The Lesedi underground mine also produced 14,000 mt of run-of-mine material in August. IFM’s co-gen facility achieved a record production of 5.5 GWh in July, or 6.9% of the company’s total power demand. In August, this was increased to 8.1 GWh or 10.2% of total power demand. The company’s target rate is 11% when all engines are running at full capacity. Since April, IFM has gotten delivery of 15,000 mtpm of chrome concentrate from UG2, with pelletizing feed reaching 7,000 mt in August.
