                                                  Canada to instigate dumping inquiry into steel imports

On Monday, The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced that from China, South Korea and Vietnam, they have instigated an introductory dumping inquiry into imports of steel. Whether the Canada’s steel industry have been harmed by the suspected dumping and subsidizing of “cold-reduced flat-rolled sheet products of carbon steel” will be inspected by the tribunal. The results of the inspection will be concluded on July 24 and the reasons for the same will be given on August 8, according to the CIIT, which functions in Canada’s trade remedy system and accounts to parliament. The steel industry globally is striving with a surfeit capability of production, mostly located in China, which has reduced the prices. From previous week, when the United States Commerce Department had smacked sheer duties on imported steel products from Vietnam that is patented in China, Canada’s steps monitor US actions after the ultimate finding they eluded US anti-dumping and anti-subsidy orders.
