Chrome Ore Market Research 27-03-2017

Due to the stainless steel needs in the global market, Steel producers demands for the Ferro-Chrome are going to increase. Ferro-Chrome Plants are looking for more Chrome Ore for producing Ferro-Chrome in April. But it is reported that no deals were made between the Chrome Ore importers and Chrome Ore exporters. There is the huge gap in between the prices. China ports are decreased by more than 51K tons to 1.887 million tons in the previous week.

The prices of Turkey Chrome Ore $420-430/MT for 40-42% Lumps CIF China and Pakistan Chrome Ore $375-380/MT are stable. South African Chrome Ore Exporters are demanding $360 to 370 for 40-42%, but no deals were reported as of 24 March 2017.

It is also reported that the prices of Ferro Chrome were  increasing in China, Japan and South Korea at early of March. In April the demands for Chrome is going to decrease, For the main Fecr plants area, Wulanchabu ,Inner Mogolian Government annouced today

the electricty supply wil be cut down by 30% due to one of electricity system life-end and need time to replace. but no timetable to replace. that will effect 30% capactity of ferro chrome  in that area , and means,30% Chrome ore demands would go to decrease.

In HK conference last week, most insiders said price of cr will go down and can not last higer level, for no buyers dared to buy at current level, even imported quantity in Feb is about 140000mt less than Jan, but price in Feb is 50usd/mt higher than Jan.

Even Main soure from SA , the price is not drop, but other source or suppliers offered price less than 50-60usd/mt and buyers prefer to buy around usd310-330/dmt cif basis.
