The quotation of silicon manganese 6517 was RMB7100-7400/mt in Ningxia, the quotation was RMB7200-7400/mt in Inner Mongolia, and the quotation of silicon manganese 6517 was RMB7100-7400/mt in Guangxi. Furthermore, the quotation of silicon manganese 6014 was RMB5600-5800/mt in China.

Correspondingly, the spot price of imported manganese ore decreased obviously during the past week. For example, the quotation of Australian 46% manganese ore was quoted as low as RMB59/mtu.

Inner Mongolia Ruihao Ferroalloys Co., Ltd, which is a large silicon manganese producer in China, began to maintain its 30000KVA furnace. Its monthly output decreased to 5000-6000 tons per month as a result. In contrast, its monthly output is 13000 tons in November, 2016.

It is estimated that the price of Chinese spot silicon manganese products will continue to decrease slightly in January, 2017 as the spot price of the upstream manganese ore has dropped RMB10/mtu during the past month. Furthermore, Chinese steel groups postponed their purchase before Spring Festival, so the demand has decreased at present.
