[Ferro-Alloys.com] cored wires market remained sluggish last week in China. In Henan province, ex-work price of Ca98%min∮9㎜Ca wire stayed around  RMB10,000-10,200/mt. Ex-work price of Ca28Si55∮13㎜ CaSi wire stayed around RMB8,300-8,500/mt and seamless calcium cored wire was RMB15,500/mt, C98%∮13㎜carbon cored wire was RMB4,800--5,000/mt .

Major cored wires producers in Northeast of China quoted ex-work price of B≥17% Φ：13mm FeB cored wires at  RMB 18,000/mt, Ti70%min∮13㎜ FeTi cored wires RMB 27,500/mt.

Price for Mg37—45% ∮13㎜ nodulizer cored wires in Shaanxi and Hunan provinces stayed at RMB 10,000/mt.

The month end saw tender documents released with small amounts needed. Except for calcium, CaSi and several other kinds which have a stable monthly output, the rest is made on orders.

With the price rise of metal calcium, down of strip steel, flat of CaSi, many producers raised up CaSi cored wires output.

As for calcium, In Shanxi and Henan Province, the major producing areas of calcium metal, ex-work price of Ca98%，0-2mm calcium granule was adjusted to RMB 15,000/mt. Meanwhile, ex-work price of Ca98%min ∮7.5㎜calcium silk stayed around RMB 16,500/mt. The 2 items all saw price rise of RMB 300—500 per ton respectively.

The slight rise was mainly due to reduced market supply caused by shut down, overhauls and output cut of many companies. The rise was believed to be temporary because gloomy outlook on future market and readiness of producers to get back to markets.

Cold-rolled strip steel price was brought down by declined steel prices. In Hebei and Shandong province, the major production areas of cored wire strip steel, mainstream ex-work price of 0.35*55, Q195 strip steel stayed at RMB 3,000-3,200/mt. strip steel producer believed that the price won’t drop further since it had reached bottom.

As demand and supply for cored wires is getting stable, future market is believed to keep flat.
