The Company is setting up an integrated 1 million TPA Special Steel Plant at Kalinganagar Industrial Complex in Odisha. The first phase of 0.5 million TPA Special Steel Long Product Plant is fully operational. The facilities include a 225,000 TPA Pig Iron Plant, 300,000 TPA Sponge Iron Plant, 500,000 TPA Steel Melt Shop (with EAF, LRF and VD) & 500,000 TPA Rolling Mill (Bar & Wire Rod Mill).

VISA Steel is also operating 180,000  TPA Ferro Chrome Plant and a 75 MW Captive Power Plant.

VISA SunCoke Limited, a joint venture company between VISA Steel Limited and SunCoke Energy, USA, is operating a 400,000 MT per annum heat recovery coke plant and associated steam generation units at Kalinganagar in Odisha.

The Company plans to integrate backwards to the mining of iron ore, chrome ore and coal. Captive iron ore mining leases in Odisha are presently under the process of allotment by the Government. A chrome ore deposit in Odisha is proposed to be developed through Ghotaringa Minerals Limited, a subsidiary of the Company.

VISA Steel also plans to set up a fully integrated Steel Plant at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. The Company also plans to set up a Steel Plant and a Manganese Alloy Plant in Madhya Pradesh.

VISA Steel is operating -  6 Submerged Arc Furnaces  with a capacity of 180,000 TPA High Carbon Ferro Chrome at Kalinganagar in Odisha. 

The Plants have been constructed with state-of-the-art technology & equipments to produce High Carbon Ferro Chrome of superior and consistent quality.

The Ferro Chrome Plants utilise a mix of hard lumpy chrome ore, chrome ore/concentrates, briquettes & friable chrome ore as input charge material. Chrome ore is sourced mainly from Odisha Mining Corporation, which is the largest supplier of chrome ore in India and TATA Steel Limited.

Ferro Chrome is required for manufacturing of Special Steel and Stainless Steel. The Ferro Chrome production capacity is being planned to be expanded to 250,000 TPA to ensure regular supplies to its customers world wide.
