On November 27, Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association released the result of demand & supply for silicon metal and the result of production of secondary aluminium alloy products in October 2014.
According to this, the consumption of silicon metal in October was 3,967 tons, up by 4.9% from the prior month. On the other side of the coin, as the quantity received was 4,046 tons, up by 8.6% from the prior month, the month-end inventory increased by 0.9%.
Besides, the production volume of secondary aluminium alloy products was 73,264 tons, up by 3.8% from the prior month, and the quantity shipped was 73,916 tons, up by 3.3% ditto. The month-end inventory was 25,120 tons, slightly up by 0.2% from the prior month.
