[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to statistics, China’s silicon metal output was 299,000mt in Q1, 2014, increasing by 24.1% compared with the same period in 2013. Among the main producing areas, Si yield in Xinjiang, Sichuan and Yunnan reached 158,000mt, accounting for 52.8% of the total output. Benefiting from the low power price, Si output achieved 80,000mt in Xinjiang area, which became the largest production area in China.

 

In the first quarter of 2014, yield of the top 10 Si enterprises attained 117,400mt, accounting for 39.2% of the total output. Meanwhile, the average Si capacity utilization rate was about 30% in China. Main areas with high capacity utilization rate were concentrated in Xinjiang, Gansu, Fujian and Sichuan.
